The Homework Episode
Last episode we assigned ourselves homework. Part one: eat somewhere you would never pick. Chris took Ava to Afghani Box in Naperville and came back with a full review and one question about the fries. Part two: learn something about Buddhism. We compare notes on the wheel of rebirth, nirvana as a flame going out, the idea of no self, and the question Chris puts to the table: if you lived a hundred lives, would that be a gift or a sentence?
Also in this one: a restaurant in the U.P. that feeds bears outside the dining room window, Clint's fishing bet in Ontario, Chris on nursing school clinicals and men in nursing, the Smoothie King franchise we should have opened 20 years ago, Aldi math, a grocery budget for a kid at college, and two German shorthaired pointers who broke the gate and stole Clint's sunglasses.
What we covered
Times are linksThree friends in a basement hit record and let the conversation go where it goes: work, family, parenting, schools, music, old jobs, fire service stories, technology, sports, and the weird little memories that usually disappear when the night ends.
